L’Observateur du Jour

Normally, there is no music on a train platform. But today at Pont de l’Alma, “Karma Chameleon” by Culture Club was blaring over the public address system as we exited the RER C. Upon our return it was “Losing My Religion” by R.E.M.

Native English speakers who also speak French often forget how to say certain words in English and have the curious habit of asking me how to say them.

There’s a Mexican restaurant on Rue Dauphine called “Fajitas” that sells mole paste, chipotle peppers in a can, fresh corn and flour tortillas, corn masa, nopales, ceviche, and has frozen margaritas. We’re saved.

There is a nice French restaurant on the northwest corner of Rue Princesse and Rue Guisarde that has café au comptoir for a euro.

A month of unlimited transport in zones 1 and 2 of the Paris Metro costs 53 euros.
